Homemade Peanut Butter {+ Father's Day 2013}

Have you ever made your own peanut butter?

If not, you have to try it sometime! So easy and so good!

All you need is a blender and some dry roasted peanuts. Love it when ingredient and supply lists are short!

Dump the whole container of peanuts in the blender and let 'er rip! I used the ice crush setting on my Ninja.

After maybe 5 minutes or so of constant blending, the crushed peanuts had turned to a butter. I scraped the sides once and blended again for just 30 or so seconds til all crushed bits were incorporated.

And there you have it! Your own natural, no sugar or oil added, homemade peanut butter!

This easy homemade staple turned into the perfect Father's Day gift for Tim. If you know Tim personally or have been reading this blog for awhile you are familiar with this man's obsession for peanut butter! He goes through a ton of it! Paired with some Iowa State gear, it was the prefect gift for Tim.
I found these blocks at the Downtown Farmer's Market on my recent solo trip. I thought they would be perfect on the mantle and Tim also mentioned he may take them in to his office.

We had a great Father's Day weekend. Kaydin and I spent most of it up at Mom and Dad's house hanging out with my Dad.

Sunday we spent the day with Tim and his Dad out at his Dad's house. We grilled and spent some time on the front porch overlooking the pond. Perfect view that I'll have to capture with my camera next time we're out there.

After heading back to the city we rode along with Tim to the car wash. The man is pretty OCD about keeping his cars clean so he frequents here quite a bit. It works out though because his vehicles are always so nice looking and in such great shape. I really need to take some lessons ;)

Kaydin is usually the one who goes on the car wash trips so she showed me how she's Dad's helper there. She hand washed all the windows. Just her hand and the bubbles! lol

Hmmm, do you think she escaped the spray?!?

Yeah, not a chance. Good thing it was pretty hot. She was almost completely dry before we made the trip back home.

She even lost a tooth while there. She had a really loose one that had been bothering her for days.  On the way there she got it all twisted so there was no turning back. A little more wiggling and it practically popped out on its own!

Happy Belated Father's Day to all you dads out there!
