Welcome 2013!

Happy New Year! I always get excited about this time of year. It's always such a new feeling and with it comes lots of motivation!  I've spent the last couple weeks relaxing with family, eating lots of great food, relaxing, and trying to be productive.

Yesterday, I spent the day immersed in a 90210 marathon while cleaning up some Christmas stuff, organizing and preparing to purge my closet, and painting my nails to match the festive mood of New Year's Eve.

Photo: Here's to a new year and cleaning out my closet! Trying the hanger trick this year
I tuned all my hangers backwards to start the year. When I wear something, I'll turn it back around. At the end of the season or year, I'll give up everything that's still backwards. I'm always scoring great deals while out shopping and Tim tells me every time I brind something new into the closet I need to take something out. Yeah, I don't follow that rule and my closet is getting pretty full! It needs an intervention.
To celebrate New Year's, Tim and I tried a new restaurant in town, Sbrocco. It was the first time both of us had been there and it was a great experience. The food was great, the service was awesome, and we both tried a bunch of new-to-us wines.

I went with the pan roasted pink snapper with potato bacon hash and roasted artichokes. Everything on the plate, so good! My only complaint was that I would've loved more artichokes. Can never get enough of those!

Tim ordered the surf and turf. It included a lobster tail and two beef tenderloin medallions. This piece of beef was legit the best I have ever had! I'm not much of a beef fan, only every once in a while does it sound good, but this was awesome!! A perfectly seared crust on the outside and tender and buttery soft on the inside. Yum!

After dinner we headed back home to be hermits and ring in the new year on the couch together. We watched all countdown shows being aired from New York and fought back my jealousy of all those people there. We pulled up our old videos and pictures from last year to reminisce and try to satisfy our want to be there again.

All in all our New Year's Eve was a great day!

Now today, I headed back up north to pick up Kaydin from her vacation getaway at Grammy and Papa's. We've been relaxing and lounging all day before heading back tomorrow to run some more errands, stock up on produce for juicing, and restock Kaydin's lunch supplies. It's back to the grind Thursday. Back and work and school and time to settle back into a renewed routine.

Here's to the new year and keeping up with all my 2013 goals!

  1. You blew my mind with that hanger idea! Love it!

  2. Wish you happy new year

New beginnings, fresh starts, reaffirmations of love and promises for a brighter future all come to mind as we ring in a New Year. There are the superficial, yet purposeful, promises we make to ourselves. We resolve to get in shape, lose weight, improve career paths, and the like. Then, there are the heartfelt promises we make to others, whether aloud or in our minds. We want to care more, express love more, reverse bad feelings in old relationships or seek out new loving relationships. We try our very best to put these desires into words. Find the perfect words here! Choose among hundreds of genuine heartfelt Happy New Year wishes and greetings for your family, friends and loved ones.
