In between my normal posting I thought I would throw in a mish-mash of information for you all to catch up...
Last weekend I had some girl time with my friend Kristyn. We had a sushi dinner (our most chosen cuisine when we eat out together) and hit up The Funny Bone. She received some tickets through her firm for The Untamed Shrews. We had seen them a few years back and loved the show! I can say they are still raunchy and dirty as ever. Some of the routine was the same from before but that didn't stop us from laughing the whole night. If you get a chance to see them, do!
On Tuesday night I attended a little meet and greet with a really popular blogger in these parts, Kristin, from iowagirleats.com. I've read her blog for awhile now and even ran into her at the farmer's market last summer. Shaunna was nice enough to to be my stalker-in-crime for the night. It was fun to sit down with Kristin (totally keep typing Kristyn outta habit. Yes, my best friend Kristyn, spells her name with a Y. A unique spelling but now it's habit to me!) and talk to her one-on-one and hear a little of the behind the scenes content. I told Kaydin that morning we'd be meeting her and she was even pretty excited! Thanks, Kristin (Dangit! I did it again with the Y), for taking the time to chat with us!

Last night I watched the presidential debates for the first time in my life! I'm becoming such a grown-up! I remember back in my teenage years I said I would probabaly never vote. Not because I didn't think it was important, but that I wasn't able to make an educated decision. I'm still not the most educated out there and politics isn't my forte, but I do think it's important to particpate in the elections. Like I said, I don't know all there is to know, but what I do know is that I am definitely a democrat and agree with lot of Obama's views. Go Obama! No rebuttals needed/wanted :)
This Saturday I'm participating in my first 5k! The Color Run came to Des Moines this year! I know I won't be running the whole thing, I mean, it's The Color Run! It's gonna be too fun to zip on through the course. If it's in Des Moines again next year, I think I'll sign Kaydin up, too. I think she would love it! And maybe Tim will join, too!
What have you been up to lately?
