2012 Goals- Check in

The year is half over! I thought I would check in with my goals for the year that I set back in January. Not the best progress, but some so that's counts, right?!? I better get moving with some of these or before I know it, I'll be making more 2013 goals before my 2012 ones get completed!
    1. Post photos at least 5 days per week to the blog.- I'm not doing the best with this but I have been posting at a steady pace for the most part. Hopefully I can keep it up the rest of the year.
    2. Make homemade hummus. With dried chickpeas and even tahini.- I plan to do this soon!
    3. Be more intentional with my meal planning. I usually do well with this through March and then it all goes downhill. We eat healthy but I would like to have more of a plan laid out.- Not really done this at all. Once I finally move out of my apartment this will be much easier for me to follow through with. Maintaining and going back and forth between two kitchens is work!
    4. Of course make sure these meals are healthy and include lots of good for you ingredients, aka natural and lacking in the chemicals.- We naturally do this pretty well. It's just routine and daily life that we eat whole, healthy foods.
    5. Not hoard my food supplies.  Yes, I am guilty of being a food hoarder as my best friend, Kristyn and boyfriend, Tim, call me.  I just love a good sale! But using up those supplies makes me nervous! I dont wanna run out!! lol So I need make sure to use up my good buys before they expire!- I continue to keep whittling down on my cupboards and freezer. Nothing is empty yet progress is being made!
    6. Save more moola! I don't have an exact amount yet but I wanna have a bigger stash sitting in the bank than I did this year when December 2012 rolls around.- Ummmm, yea, need to work harder on this one!
    7. Make sure Tim and I get more alone time. Fitting that in can be hard sometimes and we need to make sure we find more time to have fun and get out and do things just us. I'm gonna throw a hope of once per month out there! That shouldn't be too hard to hit!- I think we've  been doing pretty well on this one. I had a new co-worker start at DMU this spring and she has a daughter the same age as Kaydin. They attend the same daycare and hit it off instantly. And they live just three houses from us! Kaydin occasionally hangs out there for movie nights while Tim and I sneak in a couple hours for just us.  And right now we have more alone time than we know what to do with while Kaydin has been up at Mom and Dad's for her 4th of July vacation. We've been on the move enjoying our time together while still getting time at home to relax. Tim jokes and says he has to entertain me while Kaydin is gone! He's been doing a pretty good job!
    8. Along the same lines, keep up my relationships with my friends. Gotta love girl time!- I can always use more time with friends but I think we've had some fun this year. I even went out with my friend Kristyn last weekend for a couple drinks. We stayed til bar close! Not a normal occurance for me anymore! I was proud I lasted all night!
    9. Read more books. I would like to log 6 books read this year. Yes, kinda low, but it's hard for me to find time to read in the busy daily schedule.- Hmmm, well so far my count is a big 0.  Better get moving on that one. I do read all the time but magazines and other blogs have taken the place of books in my world.
    10. Work out at least 5 times per week. I have a gym at my job. And bonus we are encouraged to use it during the workday if need be. So this means I can work out at before my scheduled clock-out time of 4:30 and be home even sooner! I do still have my Gold's Gym membership so I try to hit there a couple times a week, too. I got a great deal of $20 per month so might as well keep using it. Plus I can take Kaydin there with me to play in the kids area so then I can squeeze in work outs on weekends, too.- I very regularly work out 4-5 times per week. I usually take Saturday and Sunday as rest days and then sometimes the occasional weekday  doesn't allow me to hit gym. But for the most part, I've  been doing really well on this goal!
    11. A few specifics on the healthy food front would be to include more:- Not eating as much of these foods as I would like, but have been consuming all of them a few times this year. So that's good, right?!?
    • chia seeds
    • flax
    • fish
    • quinoa
    • couscous
